Do you hike in the Manchester area? Come help members of the Green Mountain Club Manchester Section with their trail workday. We will meet at 8 am at the Mad Tom Notch Long Trail parking lot in Peru on Saturday May 18. We will be cleaning out winter debris from the water bars (drainage structures) on the Long Trail from Peru Peak Shelter to the top of Styles Peak. This 3.9 miles of trail but will be a 7 mile hike with car spotting. This is an all day event. We have experienced people who will be able to teach any newcomers how to do the job.

Wear sturdy shoes, long pants, layers as needed for the weather, bring raincoat just in case as this is a rain or shine event, lunch and snacks, fluids, bug repellent. If you have a garden hoe or hazel hoe, bring it, but we have plenty of tools for people to borrow. This is a great way to give back to the trails you enjoy and to meet other people who care about these trails.
