Hiker Katie Cutting is participating in Long Trail Day for her third year, but her connection to the trail began years ago. In 2014, she thru-hiked the Long Trail and discovered the extent of her own perseverance and determination. Later, Katie became a volunteer trail crew member with GMC where she also experienced just how much work goes into caring for the trail. The Long Trail continues to be a place of learning and connection for Katie. “My time with the volunteer crew opened my eyes to the extensive work it takes to maintain our beautiful trail system! Last year, I celebrated Long Trail Day with my Nurse Practitioner preceptors. It was really special to be able to celebrate and hike together with the strong and inspiring women who have been teaching me for the past two years.”

Join Katie and other champions for the Long Trail by registering as an individual fundraiser or as a team to raise $272, or $1 for every mile of the trail. The support you raise from family and friends makes it possible for hikers of all kinds to continue to enjoy the beauty of the Long Trail.
